I'm alive!

We just finally got our ADSL hooked up today! I will update more tomorrow but the short version: we've moved into our house and are happily spending every last penny we have at Home Depot.

We move this weekend! We get the keys on Sunday, maybe Saturday. We have the moving truck for Saturday and Sunday, so we will load up on Saturday, unload Sunday, and clean the old place Sunday morning. I'm so excited!!!!!!!! Both sets of parents are coming. We bought our stove and fridge today! I am embarassed by how thrilled I am. We got a gas stove/oven, and a big fridge. The store is going to store them for us until we move.

Now in the stress department: our landlord is showing our unit to people on Thursday. That means major housework tonight as tomorrow, I'll be out from 8am-midnight.

Thank god for days off. Work has been very difficult lately. I had yesterday and today off. Wednesday, Thursday, Friday I am in a course from 9am-4pm and I have those days off work, as well. But I agreed to go work 4:30pm-midnight on Wednesday and Thursday. Technically, there are 4 group homes but I always work at the same one. It's known as the " ( Read more... )

I had arranged for Big Brothers to do a pick-up and they called and reminded me yesterday to put everything outside. So of course I forgot... The pick-up driver must have been amused at me running around in my robe gathering the boxes I had for him, flashing my private parts. Damnit. I arranged for the transfer of all our utilities today! And I gave the landlord our 30-day notice.

Our gas bill will be going from $55/month to $145/month. SICK. Although I'd been told to budget $200, so $145 isn't so bad. But that's still sick. Maybe we'll just line our windows with tinfoil for heat :D
