I found out last night that my cousin was shot by his friend. He was about 19, and his dead body lay in the friend's yard for 5 hours while the police investigated...before his parents were even told

Wow. It's always so jarring to hear about people passing away so young, especially by random violence like that.
And five hours? That just seems negligent (the understatement)
I'm sorry that your family is having to go through that.

Thanks a lot, sugar. I still haven't heard the verdict on the autopsy or any news on the investigation front. It's just so strange to me. Things like this just don't happen in the small town I grew up in.

It's always such a shock when things like that happen to someone you know. It's unreal.
I know nothing can bring him back...& that's a shame.
