First of all, I want to thank everyone who has reached out to me and my family with love and support during recent months. Thanks for the update, Sheila. I wish you could be here in Austin with us so we could buoy you up. Grief is a process that plays out over many many many years, lifetimes really, especially for someone like Shannon. Thank *you* for being so strong and helping us all honor her memory.

I greatly appreciate that cd's and a chapbook will be available to keep Shannon's memory alive. As I had never heard of her until I read blog laments by two poets. After hearing some of her work on her blog and seeing the Defpoetry Jam video, I felt some grief, however small, for her and all of the things that she will never tell us ( ... )

I am grateful for this update as you have been very much on my mind. I am sending you love and peace in my thoughts every day. Shannon is constantly on my mind as well. My daughters, particularly the eldest who is about to turn 14 have just discovered an interest in the youth slam and have been going to the say anything open mic.
