lol i have the same obsession with grammar (its pretty weird, i've been liek that since i was an INFANT! lol) i like to think of apostrophes as substituions.

you're (you Are)
couldn't (could Not)

they substitute letters we're too lazy to say. So, if you are gonna leave out letters, make sure you put an apostrophe in it's place, right?

oh, and please tell people how to use "then" and "than". I notice some unmentionable people who do it wrong and it drives me insane!!! lol
