Framing the basement, building our new rooms. Sure is going to be nice down there. TS took down all the heating ducts so he could frame. While they were down, he washed them out. Out of one piece of ductwork came an in-tact 1964 Christmas card. It reads ( Read more... )

ESP. It's been showing up rather a lot lately in my life.

Yeah, we have a small collection of interesting stuff we've found in the attic and hidey holes throughout our remodel. Funny to live in a house this old and think about the families who have been here.

I hear ya. Our house was built in 1908 or somesuch, and they used old apple crates for some shelves in the basement. Haven't found anything too interesting yet, but I'm sure I'll get there.

A couple years ago we found an old cancelled check and some matchbooks from a restaurant that no longer exists. We still find small plastic kids toys in every nook and cranny.

Oh, and the report card! There was a report card torn to shreds (also in a heating duct) that had rather some bad grades on it.
