my neighbors have really creaky beds. I don't know why their beds are making so much noise. It makes a lot of noise for about 5-10 minutes (with no real pattern explaining the noise) and then just stops.

What could it be?

pillow fights, naturally.

my theory was that whoever was in that loud creaky bed was trying to sleep in (it was about 11 am) and just kept tossing and turning, because they weren't sleeping well. After five minutes of trying to find the right spot to fall asleep in, said person gave up trying to fall asleep and just woke up and got out of bed, hence the lack of creaking afterwards.
