Nothing was left out actually. I wrote it like that because it was two different speakers. It's a sentence started by my boss's wife, finished by me. I guess that format does sort of break up the continuity of the idea... hm. For context, she was telling me about a “friend” of hers who has two or three kids and constantly complains about them as if she didn't purposefully go out and have children, as if something was done to her. This woman apparently finally had her tubes tied, at her parents’ insistence, but still… she acts like the children she already has are an affliction. We just thought it was absurd that she acts like she’s not responsible for her actions; and I thought that sentence could be applied to a lot of other situations too.
