This culling of geese for "human air travel" story makes me sick. Taking stock each year from 1912 to 2010 there has been a grand total of 54 fatal bird strike incidents, resulting in 276 deaths*. So the school division called me back on Wednesday with a job offer! Huzzah! I'll be starting on the 18th, tentatively. This couple in PEI want gov't funding for in vitro fertilisation. I say sure, when all of the abandoned, orphaned and otherwise marooned kids have been adopted, we can pay for your IVF. Oh but that's right, a kid isn't really *your* kid unless you're its bio-parent. Our self-centred view of the world needs changing.
