Well. Here's a reaction post about today's Homestuck!

Ohhhhhhhh ... Lord English! I didn't recognize her species as something we'd seen before (but, then again, I read the whole series in about two weeks, so there is a ton of stuff that I missed the first time; my sister is currently reading it and she keeps emailing me about things that make me go "Wait, I don't remember that at all

Eheh. I'm ridiculously obsessed to keep track of Homestuck like this. ^^;

Look at this animation. It's where Doc Scratch's doll body turns into Lord English (because he's an excellent host). His looks matches Calliope's down to the spots on his cheeks, and we see that his blood is red, too.

The difference is that he's got revolving billiard ball eyes, and Calliope's are... well, they look kind of like Cal's eyes.

It's fully possible that what Lord English did (creating himself by means of killing the universe and spawning inside a dead omnipotent doll) is not typical of the species either. Or maybe it is? o_O

Calliope is such a sweet little fangirl, though. And she seems to be genuinely friends with the human kids. She's not telling them everything, but she obviously has reasons for that.

I mean, I'm inclined to believe her when she tells Jane

Ohhhhh. I'm pretty sure I spent most of that animation looking away from the screen because of the flashing lights. ^^;; (I'm not seizure-prone or anything - I just dislike quick-flashing lights and really fast cuts! Which might partly explain why I was generally sort of confused about Lord English's presence in the story ...) Thank you for the link!

She is! I spent a lot of time not really trusting her and thinking that her friendliness was all going to turn out to be a lie, but no, I think it really is genuine and I like her a lot.

The Karkat (or rather - Sufferer!) symbols on their sleeves still confuse me... It could be merely that Calliope has taken it up simply because she's a fan of troll history and might like the Sufferer's teachings - but then again, uu wouldn't.It could go the other way, too - it's possible, isn't it, that Calliope was in contact with the Sufferer and is the reason why he remembered the original

I was wary about UU in the beginning too, because she could be literally anyone, and seemed to be a hemonymous troll who was not Karkat, which... yeah.

It could go the other way, too - it's possible, isn't it, that Calliope was in contact with the Sufferer and is the reason why he remembered the original world when no one else did?

Oh! That's a possibility!

The other possibility that occurred to me just now is that it might simply be a symbol of burning handcuffs, which was a torture instrument in troll culture, after all. Or the symbol might be that to uu, but symbolize the Sufferer to UU?

Someone on Tumblr noted that the brief glimpse we get of Calliope's legs show the same stockings that are on Cal. It might not mean anything! But. You know. So many coincidences.

Yeah.

Like the names. And such. And the "juju". Um. Wow. Yes. Cal? CAL. What. Have we heard "juju" before?

I'm still trying to wrap my mind around what this could mean for our kids and trolls and everyone else, but - is this possibly the key to doing the impossible and defeating Lord English? Because. Yeah. This reveals a lot more about him than I thought we'd ever know and even if he can't be defeated by normal means, Calliope did break a bunch of rules...!

True about the stockings! And like I said above, Calliope's eyes look kind of like Cal's. (As opposed to changing billiard balls like Lord English.)

I really wonder what this means about Lord English's origin and ability to be defeated, and... Look at this:

Oh, and in the Midnight Crew intermission, it's stated clearly that Lord English can only be defeated with a complicated chain of time-space shenanigans (or something to that effect)... it doesn't say that she can't be defeated at all.

Calliope tells Jane about her juju in this conversation. She intends to send it to Jane.

Of course, Calliope says hers is dear to her, but UU seems to be almost afraid of them, or at least Dirk's Cal. In this and the next page, he goes on about how horrible it is...

It seems like he's saying that jujus in general are just BAD (though, knowing uu, what exactly he means by that is unsure!). And Calliope likes hers, so!

So how many cherubs are there, really? ...well, I guess as many as there are anything else, we only ever see the important ones. Because uu has to be LE...(what is uu's real name? Not English, I doubt...Cal-something?)

Were the limebloods hunted because their blood was LE's color? or was that unrelated...?

And yesssss how did Rose know all of this, to write those books - well, she knows by being a seer, but why did she write them?

Well, they didn't say, but considering that Calliope mentioned that they have no real home planet, there's probably not a lot of them. Still, it does mean that Lord English is not absolutely unique of his kind! (except most of them are probably not quite that powerful?)

Lime wasn't Lord English's color! Calliope said that her brother's color is bright red (no, I don't know how it works that they have different blood colors, but apparently they do!), and we've actually seen that Lord English's blood is red.

And yesssss how did Rose know all of this, to write those books - well, she knows by being a seer, but why did she write them?We've seen Rose write exactly the book Calliope has, though (with Dave and Karkat's scribbles, hee!). She likes to make a record of stuff, and she did say it might become useful for someone, somewhen. Although when we saw it she was in the middle of writing it - it probably also

LE's blood-color is red, but he wears lime-green, speaks with lime-green over white, his emissary is powered by the lime-green sun...it may be just to get one over on Calliope (as he says he's going to do with stealing her color for his text) but whatever the reasons, he definitely is more associated with lime-green than with red, even though he bleeds red...

Did Gamzee choose to censor it himself? Gamzee is implied to be under Cal's control at least some of the time...

I thought the red herring stuff was more about uu/UU being a troll/Karkat...but it could be something else! It is Homestuck...RED herrings?? LE has red blood? IDEK!!!!
