I'm in the same boat and haven't found anything that works. I tried joining one of those weekly challenge communities but found the most prolific contributors a bit off-putting, so that fizzled. I keep thinking about joining other challenges, but the idea of failing to meet a deadline is a lot of pressure and the last thing I need is more pressure. I'm not one of those writers who works best under pressure. I work best when I'm relaxed and happy, which pretty much means that I'm doomed.

:( It's not a fun place to be. I tend to work well with deadlines, but...this is just not turning out the way I'd hoped. Planned. Thought.

I hope we get better!!

I have not seen you on here in, like, FOREVER! How have you been?

I KNOW! I keep thinking I'm back and then...I'm not. :) Things are good. Busy, but good!

I am writing more. I'm at about 42k tonight and counting, but...I mean at least 85% of this is total shit. It's *there* though, I guess.

Last year, when you were so into it, did you actually get to The End? Or did you just stop at 50k?

yeah, I definitely ran into that issue with quantity, but the fact that you're getting it DOWN is the real point, and THAT means you're winning!

Last year I did get to the end...but that was by skipping the middle. I made it just over 50k and then collapsed, just over the finish line. I skipped to the end, but I missed a lot of development to get there. I do plan to fix that at some point. First, I'd planned to do it in Dec, then March. I finally printed it in October, and now I may actually be inclined to work on it...a year later. :) Long stuff exhausts me!

I'm so glad you're doing so well!! Keep it up, the feeling of getting to the finish is not to be missed! :D And at the end, you have a framework of soemthing Big.

Yes, I do have a 'framework'...I figured out that what I have is basically a 42000 word prologue to something else :)

Lol. Yeah, I think I've ended up with a mostly-crap-prewriting-to-get-to-the-real-story story both years. But it's still the most I've written for a single storyline ever, so...go, NaNo! You must be getting pretty close, now, huh?
