The weekly snowpocalypse and my truck
Saturday was pretty warm. Well, warm for Boston in January. I did some errands and found a killer spot behind my building. Flat spot, well shoveled, not far from the door. Just about perfect. My larders were stocked and I figured I'd leave it there till after the weekly snowstorm ( Read more... ) -

Schroedinger's Kiln
The kiln load is in that indeterminate state. Firing finished, but too hot to open. At this point, it's all potential and the act of opening the kiln fixes the outcome: good firing or bad one; runny glazes or just right; cracked or whole pieces. 1687 Degrees F !!!
Took 10.5 hours to get to 1687 which isn't bad at all (3 hours soaking at 180 F to make sure everything was dry.) I'm back in business. Hooray ( Read more... ) -
