I often feel as if I am don't leave much of an impression on people. I know I am overly cautious of other's personal space. I rarely speak loudly, in hopes that I do not come off as another loud, obnoxious white guy, and so I mumble instead. I have a hard time recognizing and responding to flirtation. There have been times where I've had to ( Read more... )

erik, you defiantly made an impression on me. i'm so glad that i met you. you made my first year in kentucky ten times better than it should have been. but i have the same issues myself. and i don't know any advice except that you should just be yourself because you are awesome! and i care about you and you always have a friend in me no matter what.

Hey, I remembered you from when I first met you at Patterson Hall, and in fact thought, "I want to be that guy's friend." And did I not kind of continually show up at your door when I lived in Lexington? Will and I tell our Chicago friends Erik stories, too: "This friend of ours, who is this kind of tall, manly looking guy, knitted his mom a uterus for Mother's Day! Isn't that awesome?"

So yeah. I find you memorable.

a: what clinic do you work at?

b: you've made an impression on me and a nice one at that.

c: sometimes i think that if i'm not being active enough in groups such as KFTC, i can't be friends with people who are active.

just a thought.

a. I work at the Kentucky Clinic at the UK Med center in the Radiology department. I don't really do anything all that important there, however.

b. I remember when i first met you long ago through KSPN. I always liked you and the other Berea folks. I miss those times.

c. don't think that. We all do what we can in our own ways. And i guess we sometimes need time to ourselves to grow. I certainly tend to move in and out of groups as I change my ideas and whatnot. I would not judge others for doing the same.

Erik,
Be who you are and you will be appreciated for it. My fiance Dan is very quiet and introverted too, but he found a forever friend and then some in me because he was always who he was and I appreciated it. I remember you because you're the only person I talk to on messenger anymore--you are interesting and not always looking to score. You care about the bigger picture. These are some very great qualities!! You're young yet; when I was your age I was lonely, self concious and perpetually single. Sooner or later you'll find where you fit in. :-) Smile and love yourself!
