Apparently it's not very easy to get your stuff off of typepad and into wordpress. They do a lot of non-standard stuff that has to be converted over, images are a problem if not handled correctly, and they prevent you from exporting your entire blog in one shot. Only a 100 entries at a time or something like that. A number of developer websites outline the problems, but this site explains it well t: http://foliovision.com/2008/11/17/typepad-to-wordpress/

wordpress is something I've used quite a bit, and I like it. If you want a test platform, I could easily set one up for you on my server. It would take all of 20 minutes. If that.

Thanks. Now that I'm doing actual paid food writing, I'm trying to "up" the professional level of my blog.

(By the way, I know you've been hosting our tai chi school's site for free. They have no money, so I really appreciate that you've been willing to how to the site and I'd like to send you something in thanks.)

It's really no problem. If you like, you can send what you think is fair to paypal@indeterminate.net (at PayPal of course), or just get me something you think I would enjoy as a gift.
