So, the 'Lenny' sweater is irritating, confining, and one that Leonard ultimately has to chose to remove. I am not naïve enough to think the writers are actually trying to say anything real with this, but they HAVE to know that people who ship Leonard and Penny refer to that coupling as 'Lenny'. Why make that a deliberate choice to put that name on the obnoxious sweater when they so obviously are in love with the Lenny ship? Sometimes I think TPTB just enjoy playing games...

Oh, I think they very much enjoy playing games. I hadnt even looked at the sweater from that point of view, but you are absolutely right. In fact I saw some Leonard/Penny people cheer because now tptb had used Lenny in the show(they already used Shamy).

I think it was because 'Leo' wasn't enough of a diminutive and that's all. I mean, it's a vaguely humorous coincidence, but I don't think they picked it solely because of the ship name that some people use. (I for one don't use portmanteau ship names at all unless I'm being intentionally silly, like 'Koothrapolowitz', because they annoy me, and I know I'm far from the only one.)

That's blasphemy we all know Leonard can all but walk on water, the writers say so every week ;)

Too much yelling from Leonard, Penny, and Raj tonight. I thought Raj self destructing on his date was weak. I was not crazy about Penny going all rough on Lucy. Let her be rough with Amy.

I could totally see Penny confronting Lucy about hurting Raj. She confronted the guys about making fun of Zack, confronted Sheldons bully, and taken on Alicia. They usually have her a bit more focused when she does it but in the same scene they were doing the dumb blond bad waitress shtick for the umpteenth time in the last 4 or 5 episodes That is old, move on..(though I did enjoy her crack to Leonard when she took the picture). Also sad sack Raj. Enough with that too. On the other hand, kinda liked diabolical Sheldon.

I like how Penny sticks up for her friends. I just thought Penny came off a little like a bully though. I think sad sack Raj is the reason Raj should have been the one to confront Lucy. I also liked Penny crack to Leonard and how Sheldon handled Leonard. Still another in a long line of mediocre episodes. :(

Yeah, I guess in theory I didn't mind Penny standing up for Raj but I couldn't help but think that something else was going on in that scene (you know me, I always like to read into things). I just thought Penny's response to Lucy, yelling at her and telling her that she was a bad person, was misplaced and exaggerated - like the punishment didn't fit the crime. Don't get me wrong, I am not condoning Lucy breaking up with Raj in a text message but, realistically, they only ever had about 3 dates, one of which was communicating via text messaging at the library. Lucy had crippling social anxiety and while I don't think this should be used as an excuse, at least I can understand her behaviour somewhat. Actually, I'm not sure what is worse - breaking up with someone after 3 dates via text message, or breaking up with someone after you have been sleeping with them for 6 months, out in public at a bowling match, and right in front of all your friends and complete strangers. Seriously, I think it is interesting to see how the LP and RL ( ... )

Did NOT love the "Penny is an incompetent waitress" stuff once again, among so many other annoyances about the way Penny's been portrayed in recent episodes (heck, in recent YEARS!), but I DID thoroughly enjoy and actually laugh out loud at Sheldon actually winning at a far more subtle and sophisticated 'prank' than anyone gave him credit for being able to pull off ( ... )

Oh, I agree with the Sheldon plot. I actually enjoyed that part of the story. It was definitely more vintage Sheldon. The fixation on the pranks kind of reminded me of the Vengeance Formulation. He sets up this elaborate prank on Kripke, but still manages to get Leonard with a whoopee cushion. I really liked the interaction between the two of them tonight.

Vintage Sheldon? Forsooth! Yes, I've seen signs that elegant bastard's re-emerging from whatever hickville winnebago he spent season 5 and 6 camped in. Looks promising.
Will bribe my pal into downloading this episode, and report back.
I must remember to come HERE rather than the orange forum, where I invariably turn into Ranty McWhingebag...
Incidentally, there's a NEW ONE [Sheldon's voice there, obviously] on the P&S Shippers thread....I KNOW it's one of you lot...Confess dammit!

Yes, I was reading some of the comments about the episode on the other forum and it was mostly panned or damed with faint praise. Sheldon being mean to Leonard. It's the first time I have more than cracked a smile in several episodes.

Still hate the Penny is a stupid, incompetent waitress storyline.

Did anyone else find it interesting, at least, that the writers had Penny (unknowingly on her part -- and possibly unknowingly on the writers' part, given what we've seen of the total lack of continuity at times!) echoing Sheldon's earlier comments from the exploding space toilet episode, about Howard being able to make a good case for getting a refund from M.I.T. for his Master's degree tuition ("I must say, Howard, I think a detailed letter to MIT describing your current circumstances might entitle you to a refund on your Master's degree"), when she took that photo of demented sweater-wearing Leonard and said she'd send it to Princeton so he could get his tuition money back?

The show throws hints and they always seem to be building towards something and then nothing big really seems to happen. It just seems to be endless filler type episodes. :(

True! You'd think I'd know better than to let them suck me back in with hope, yet again. :(

It's like they are waiting until the very last episode to show us anything big. :(

I'M SORRY DID THEY WRITE THAT WHOLE EPISODE JUST FOR THAT STUPID LINE ABOUT SATISFACTION?

gamma12 November 15 2013, 15:38:08 UTC
They have to get that kind of line in every other episode. Enough already.

I'm not sure why TPTB and some of these writers just do not go work for Cinemax already? LOL!
