3.  Discover kitchen cupboard, counter, and floor is aflood with water - check

4.  Call plumber - check

5.  Call work - check

6.  Shell out $200 for a new shut-off valve - check

But the upside is you can actually do something about it. When my husband and I were first married, I moved into his apartment which was slightly on the run-down side (rent control). One night the floor underneath the bathtub upstairs came crashing down into our bathtub. I can't tell you how many months I got to take very rapid showers, glancing up in trepidation at the bottom of the bathtub above us.

So not fun.

Yes, today I have a clearer less emotional point of view about the whole mess. It's only that my last TWO apartments had serious water issues. And water can do so much damage in a short amount of time.

But at least I don't have to rely on a poor landlord, or a slow to take action management company.

Oooh, a bottle of Macallan makes a lot of things right again. :)))

Yes, he's black with a bit of white. Maunzer is the white one with some black... :)
