it's called a quarter-life crises. it's becoming more and more common in our fast-paced society.

Shani, you gotta do what you think is not only best for you, but also something you can enjoy doing while you still can. If going to Israel for five months to a year (or whatever the case may be) is something you can see yourself doing and being able to do it makes you happy, go for it. But I'd also wait to see what those graduate schools say as well. After all, you did take the time and energy to apply and be interviewed.

If it was me, and the chance to spend time in one of my favorite places doing something good was an option versus going to a school I wasn't as excited about as another, I'd choose the favorite place. You can always apply to Case Western and others while you're away, as you said.

Either way, Shani, it does sound exciting and a chance to do something fun that you'll be able to tell your grandkids to make them take a chance on something just as wonderful :D Whatever you decide, I'm behind ya all the way *hugs*
