I am returned from the chiropractor and Ed the massage guy, he of the steel thumbs and cast iron elbows, worked on me for an hour. I can now pretty much turn my head to the right with almost as much ease as I can turn it to the left. I am also slamming water and taking aspirin ( Read more... ) -

4:30 in the afternoon of the last day of early voting is not the time to vote early. The rumor mill continues to grind in the science dept. For sure I'm not coming back and the new guy isn't getting his contract renewed. Everyone in our little part of Crockett (the 120's wing) knows I'm leaving. This past week one vetran teacher told me she was giving it one more year and would quit in the middle of next year if the bullshit was as thick and heavy as it has been this year. I just bought the first pair of high heeled shoes I've owned in well over 25 years. They're black leather sling backs with realy pointy toes. Stacey and Clinton would be proud. Now I have to re-learn how to navigate in them. -

IT'S SPRING BREAK !!!! I have a to-do list that runs from here to there. I am all Alamo-ed out. We went down to San Antonio on Friday night to meet up with Baboo's former boss and her cousin who also lives in Austin. We got to the hotel just fine and had a good time catching up on old times.The cousin got lost and didn't show up until after ten. Baboo and I spent five hours at the new and improved South Austin Hospital Emergency Room. Seems he has acute allergic conjunctivitis with chemosis. All of which means they don't know why his left eye is swol up to three times its normal size, doesn't hurt or itch or burn but sure does look godawful. What do people in Austin, Texas do on a dreary,drizzly chilly Saturday in late February? They get into their cars and drive around. I had to get from north Austin to south Austin and it took damn near an hour in bumper to bumper on Lamar.
