Some sympathy and a little bit of advice from someone who wishes it was $5 to fly across THE PLANET.

I love my friends, but I've had most of them since high school, and I've gotten out of the habit of trying hard to make new ones. You gotta put yourself out there and work HARD at finding some new ones. It's not as easy as being in the same calculus class anymore, and it can be exhausting to be the one constantly trying to make it happen. Once you have a handle on the hours of the day thing, it'll make it easier; maybe you'll have time to join some activities that'll help you meet more people.

I rather suspect some of your loneliness is tied to a particular person. Re: that. Well...get thee a good webcam ;)

much of the loneliness is tied to one person and i have met lots of people out here and i go out with them on weekends, but in only knowing them a few weeks or months, they will never be the same as hanging with a best friend who you can talk about anything with.
I'll work on that webcam idea:)
