So Sherlock is now dating some guy. Of course, John is surprised by this (and a bit disapointed because he's attracted to Sherlock himself), but he accepts it. Even when Sherlock's new partner moves in and John moves out, because he doesn't feel comfortable seeing them together ( ... )

John wouldn’t say that a series of affairs, with inevitable break-ups in the end, could be regarded as rewarding experience. Yet he was pleased that Sherlock decided to ask him for advice. Living without Sherlock turned out to be bearable. More or less. John could handle it. He had a job, and mundane things to do. Lots of distractions. It was like a dazzling light John had got used to had been suddenly switched off, leaving him in the grey ordinary world, but some people lived in it their whole life, without craving for brighter radiance. John, too, could learn to exist in the dull twilight again. He just needed time ( ... )
