AGU: Artificial Gestation Unit, Star Trek/Aliens AU? anonymous April 3 2012, 21:21:16 UTC
Admiral Holmes was the most formidable woman assigned to Orbiter-200B; in fact, she was so busy with her duties that she and her husband opted to use an AGU rather than to have her waddle about pregnant and cause a loss of efficiency ( ... )

Hello OP, I am totally keen to do a fill for this (though it might not be a huge one), does it matter if I don't know anything about Star Trek and fill in the gaps with invented stuff? I am a huge Aliens fan so I'll try to incorporate the canon there.

OP

*flailing*

O MY GOD IT'S TAWABIDS AHHH

*wailing*

I admire you so much, your writing is spectacular, o my gosh you like my prompt how is this happening how--

Well, by Star Trek/Aliens, I really just meant a futuristic sci-fi with a starbase infected by an indeterminate species of parasitic alien. I put Star Trek/Aliens there as a generic idea rather than a specific crossover.
(I've never actually watched the Aliens series, but I really want to--I've absorbed the basic premise through the internet, though)

Write whatever works best for you, make up or change whatever you like. I'm not fussy with the exact details at all.
I personally can't that believe you, tawabids, want to fill this prompt out of all the other prompts here...*is overcome*

LOL now I'm freaking out because you're freaking out! :DDD *flails*

Awesome I will just go where the fill takes me, I might even write an original parasitic alien as the canon Aliens are possibly not amenable to what I am planning for them. We'll see what happens.

It is a very inspiring prompt, I hope the eventual fill meets expectations XD

Haha, so I totally now have four pages of plot notes written since this morning, and I just want to check something. So far there is a lot more John and Sherlock in the story than your prompt specified (though Lestrade is overseeing things) - is that what you were hoping for? Because I can push things back into Lestrade's POV and aim the plot towards Mycroft (currently he's only appeared in flashback) if you want. I want to stick to the spirit of the prompt :)

Awesome, psychological conflict IS my favourite thing :D ok I will roll with whatever the story demands to keep things realistic. Your faith in me is giving me loads of confidence!

I would love to hear your ideas, but definitely wait until after the fill is posted, it'll be interesting to compare without any chance of subconsciously absorbing stuff :3 that's how SCIENCE does it.

It could be a few days before I get anything posted but I'll try and have the whole thing finished this weekend as I'll be away from the computer for a very long time after that. Eeeeee I'm so excited, this story won't leave me alone :DDDDDD

LOL I LOVE YOU AND ALL YOUR COMMENTS. Stop it or my ego's going to be so big I won't be able to see the keyboard. I'm sorry you don't have more science friends, everybody needs nerdy science friends to shoot the breeze with about evolution and string theory and the reproductive cycle of the xenomorph from Alien!
