Johns reaction to sherlocks torture anonymous May 27 2014, 20:18:20 UTC
You know that scene at the beginning of TEH when we see sherlock being tortured? He has obviously been there for some time. Somehow John gets to see the footage (possibly due to either Mycroft's or Moriarty's meddling/he notices some scars on sherlock's back and investigates). Angst ensues.

I would prefer johnlock but it's not required.

+1 if sherlock made a conscious effort to hide what happened to him

+10 if it's not the first time he has been tortured (john somehow finds also out about it). maybe have the mind palace created originally for the purpose of coping with the aftermath

+100 if somehow along the way they compare scars

I think I might write this. OP, would you mind a slow built-up and some dub-con in the process (not John/Sherlock)?

Do you want some RTYIs? Not quite what you want, doesn't include John seeing the footage, but John discovers the scars. I know of two if you're interested.

It’s kind of mixed messages, and John obviously fails at interpreting them. On one hand, Sherlock has invited him to his parents’ house, quite willingly, and on a suitable pretext. On the other hand, Sherlock now gives his mother in a barely audible hiss when it turns out that the guest will be staying in a room right next to his, “Couldn’t you place him somewhere else ( ... )

Your Mycroft is fantastic, and everything about this is perfectly done.( Of course, I already thought you were awesome.)

At dinner, Seb does most of the talking. A bright young man with a brilliant career, or so he seems if he’s to be judged by his own words. Sherlock’s mother looks benevolently at him. “I suppose Sherlock could have succeeded in the banking sphere too if he’d put his mind to it,” she says with a meaningful look in Sherlock’s direction. “As well as in politics.” A glance to where Mycroft is idly dissecting a crumbly piece of cake on his plate. “Unfortunately, Sherlock has always been somewhat unruly. I hoped he’d at least make a scientific career, but he’s more into all this romantic stuff with chasing criminals. I gave up mine for the sake of children, you see. I had more ambitions on their part. I suppose it’s my fault, as a mother, that I haven’t explained to Sherlock well enough that being a genius isn’t a profession in itself.” She gives Sherlock a fond smile. It’s a bit disappointing, her expression says, but now it’s too late to do something about it, and I still love you of courseSherlock winces at her words, like she’s worrying ( ... )

Somehow John manages to fall asleep in an hour or so, his mind still a foul turmoil. In the middle of the night, when it’s still dark behind the curtains, he wakes up again. At first, he’s not sure what has disturbed him, but then he perceives Sebastian’s sleep-clogged voice, “Keep quiet, you’ll stir the whole house up.” Are they doing this again ( ... )
