Maybe the writers are just sort of in a bit of a limbo until the new season. I know I'm feeling that way because I want to wait for the new canon before writing any more. Take heart and have hope!

IME they do. They do it to other people, and when one of them fucks up, they do it to each other.

It's not karmic justice, they're just putting themselves in bad situations and it bites them. You don't always get to see all the drama, but it's there and it's not nice to be a part of.
