Wow, that's an great story, seriously. That you decided to just take charge and do it -- and do it the "hard way," which really is the only way that works.

You're truly an inspiration. I'm just starting out, losing the weight I really need to lose, and I honestly will keep in mind some of the things you said. Like "Any day that I don’t stop and a drive thru and buy food to eat in the car is a victory for me."

You are quick bb! You are right, it is the only way to do it. It is a learning experience every day. I would have to say one of the most important things I have learned is that it is never over. You can't just lose the weight and go back to "normal". Normal is what caused me to gain so much weight. It was depressing to realize this is for the rest of my life, but also such a breakthrough for me.

Seriously. Sometimes I actually start to sweat as I drive by places. I just get it in my head that I Have To Have It. I talk to myself in my head all the time. I know if I can just get past this one, the next one will be easy. I have a million ridiculous tricks I play on myself. Umm, sorry for this long reply. I could talk about this for days. *blush*

Melissaaaaaa.

Seriously. I'm like. Going to use you as my inspiration. I NEED to lose weight. A lot. of weight >.<

This is really a huge inspiration to me. I always see people in magazines and on TV with these kind of stories but the fact that I feel like I... *know* you? It's really... good. It actually inspires me like it's actually possible.

Rachel darling, I would be honored to be your inspiration.

Don't let how much weight you have to lose put you off. When I lost the first five pounds it seemed so small, like I had so long to go. Really, though? Five pounds is a lot. Take 5lbs of potatoes and tape them all over your body. That would be what you lost. Each milestone is important and just helps you prove to yourself that you can do it.

Anything you want to ask me is fair game. I can also point you to a ton of fantastic websites, message boards and blogs of people losing weight. It helps a lot to know you aren't the only one out there.

You look great, and thank you for sharing your story! :) I'm not concerned with losing actual weight, but I do need to get into shape -- which I've been putting off. I need to just suck it up and start working out.

Thank you! I love strength training. It makes me feel so strong and tough. It is really just getting started that is the hardest part. Once you push yourself the first time it gets easier every time.
