I've lost 96lbs and kept it off for awhile now. I'm not officially where I should be, but I'm pretty happy here.
You should just do it. The only thing that ever makes me sad about my weight loss is how long I waited. Feel free to ask me questions or whatever. I love to talk about this stuff!
I just can't believe I've let it get this bad. I'm only 18 so I feel like it's just not right to be this overweight. I've always just eaten WHATEVER I want. When I was a kid it was okay, but I keep gaining weight every year as I get older. I went to the doctor recently and she basically told me I had gained like 30 pounds in less than a year.
What I've decided to do in the short term is just work out EVERY DAY in March. It's easy to do because I live on campus and we have an amazing gym. Also I take aerobics classes on Mondays and Wednesdays.
It's easy for me to lose weight (I guess because I'm young), I'm just so impatient. I lose some weight, but then I just give it up. I guess I just need to realize that it will take YEARS to get where I want to be. I mean, it took years to get this big!
Yeah, I understand. Honestly, losing 1-3lbs a week is the best way to do it so that it stays off. Working out every day is a great start!
The most important thing to me though is tracking your food. Knowing what you put into your body is eye opening when you first start really looking at it and reading nutrition labels. There are a ton of free sites out there. I used fitday.com but that's mostly because I've been there for 4+ years now. thedailyplate.com has a wiki calorie database so if you eat at a lot of restaurants or prepackaged food it is very handy. sparkpeople.com is good too, they have a huge forum if you like that kind of thing.
Hi, I hope this doesn't sound too creepy...but I'm from off_wut and just wandered over here. I read this whole post and you are just such an inspiration! Would you mind if I added you?

I'm trying to lose weight too. I need to lose about 80-90 pounds, I'm not absolutely sure on the number. I know what to do, I just need to do it.
Can I add you?
