Today I learned that when there are three or more blinking red lights of doom on a new recipe, I should just fix it the first time or choose another. My ice cream book, which has more pages marked "to make" than not, starts off with an almond ice cream recipe that at first sounds delicious and easy. Lame ice cream author!! Good save though! Unfortunately, I work on Sunday so I won't be there until 7ish and can't make anything :( I hope there is still ice cream when I get there! Yum!

The horribleness of this recipe makes me wonder if it was written by someone who speaks a foreign language then badly translated into English. I can't believe they've actually made it like that and went "Mmmmm, yummy!"

It gets better. I went back and looked a little more closely at all the recipes I'd marked to do, and nearly all of the ones using a custard base call for whole eggs only. I guess I should use this book more as a guideline than an actual source. There will be notes aplenty when I'm done.
