This past Sunday night/early Monday morning I finished watching BSG for the first time, almost two weeks after I began it! I am still filled with many thoughts and feels right now that I need to express. I'm glad I finished during a 3-day weekend so that I had time to finish watching and then have a day after to ~process~ it all, and explore fandom ( Read more... )

Ooh yes, you should watch it! I'd be interested to hear what you think, I hope you would love it to...:) (And I wonder if you'd feel the same way I do about a certain character, who does in some ways remind me of Cesare in looks and personality. ;)). Make sure though that if you begin watching you start with the "miniseries" (which for all intents and purposes is the pilot, and Netflix groups it in s1 at least). If you do watch let me know what you think!

Yay for more agreement, aside from bits of s4! :D It's good to know I am not alone in these feels...sorry you hated s4 so much. Was it largely the Gaius and Caprica issues, or the plotlines as well? (Daybreak holes aside).

Oh yes, I lied, I had seen that one before as well (the first I ever saw), but I wasn't sure how to embed that one...it was a decent vid though, and I love that song! (I got it after hearing it in the vid and have had it pretty much on repeat on my iPod the past week...so fitting for them). But thanks for the rec anyway, IA with it! :)

Ahahahaha, my feelings about the last two minutes are almost totally irrational, I just loathe that scene-like, the politics of it, all the supersimplistic antitech jargon that goes against the whole fact of the show (YOU BUILT ROBOTS THAT CAN TALK TO GOD! AND YOU ARE TRYING TO SCARE ME WITH A FURBY?)-that I'd like to block it out of my memory wholesale, and I CAN'T because MY OTP; I have to CONCENTRATE and I RESENT THAT DEEPLY.

Although as a less irrational (though deeply semantic) objection: why are the angels tailored to Gaius and Caprica's subconsciouses still around when those two have presumably been dead for centuries? (I KNOW. I KNOW. IT'S TO TELEGRAPH ANGELIC...BUSINESS TO THE AUDIENCE. BUT IT IS PAT AND I AM MAD.)

Ah I see...so because they have appearance of the OTP then, their faaaces, it's like they're mixing them up in it even though it's not actually them but their angelic messengers...(I was super confused about their presence in that scene at first).

And lol I was wondering about that to, but I guess they wanted the audience to know it was still those angels who we were seeing...and show us the beloved Head!versions one more time (maybe the angels got used to and enjoy wearing Tricia Helfer's and James Callis' lovely faces? :p). I still find it funny that they were collaborating as a team/unit all this time...

and just gah, all of Gaius and Laura's scenes are wonderful. <3AREN'T THEY THOUGH? The detention center scene on New Caprica is my favorite between them ever, I can just go on and on about it. He really does have the moral high ground for a minute there, though my real favorite thing is when he shouts "Nobody has been tortured!" is such desperate denial ( ... )

First off, that icon! <333 She looks so happy and into it, that smiiileee! One of the rare glimpses of them as a normal-ish couple...

Yesss exactly, I love the way they are interlocked, clinging to each other, just as they are on the show on a metaphorical and literal level (most of the time in the early seasons at least). And the differences in the grips, with hers much more proprietary and dominant, as appropriate...this show has such good promo shots! (It's nice when you get free official fanart, more or less...:p)

I feel like I need to meta one of these days about Baltar's arc in S4, because I actually enjoy the cult stuff a lot, although his role in it is kind of uneven and I understand why people feel it was wasted time.I'd be interested in reading that! (Especially since I just read in the comments to one of your ( ... )

OH MY DAYBREAK THOUGH, DAYBREAK LOOOOOVE. I even love the final scene...

But yeah, more importantly HEADSIX AND HEADBALTAR, AN ETERNITY OF SNARKING TOGETHER. First and final OTP in the series. Tricia Helfer, first and last in the series. Bless you BSG for this beautiful ship symmetry I didn't even know I wanted.Yeah, I was kind of surprised to see so much virulent hate for Daybreak (or the last two parts at least), because the ending gave me allll the feelings, and still does even though I realize some of the flaws and plotholes now (it's kind of like "Chosen" in BTVS for me--I realize it's flawed but SO MANY FEELS). With the final scene I was mostly just confused...but yes, it was nice to see the suave Head!Six and Head!Gaius once more snarking ( ... )

Oh, I didn't realize you were just watching it for the first time! BSG is actually my favorite show ever of all time. I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH.

Lol yep, it took me a while, but better late than never! ;) I'm glad to hear you're also a fan! :D (I was disappointed to learn that Eric had stopped watching after s1...how can you stop?!) I think it might become my favorite show of all time as well, though I probably have to rewatch a little more just to see...it is SO GOOD THOUGH AND GAH! All the feelings!

never had very strong feelings about Gaius/Six, though. It wasn't until the finale that I realized I really liked them together.

Well neutral feelings is better than negative feelings--I'm just glad you're not a hater and liked them together in the end! ;)

I don't even really have an OTP for the show. I say it's Kara/Lee sometimes, but I have such a love/hate relationship with that pairing, so. It's basically a tie ( ... )
