a whole post about books and music...kailangelMay 6 2003, 11:26:05 UTC
...and the only thing I'm interested in is the flat iron: you said it was $15...is it one of the porcelin kinds? or the gel filled? or...what? I need one, but I want to off of recommendations from people who already own them...
Also...you're leaving DC? Did I miss an entry somewhere?

hi kaila! ok, here's to answer your questions:
1. if you are looking to purchase a flat iron, you must go to a beauty supply store such as sally's because those pieces of shit they sell at k-mart or wal-mart are not going to do anything for your hair, you have to get a professional one. the best type to get is the kind with ceramic plates, but those tend to cost a lot more than usual. the one i have is not ceramic, but it's "gold-plated" (i don't know if that means real gold or what, but it works!) also be sure the temperature goes to at least 200 degrees if not more. and yes, mine was only$15...there was a sale at sally's when i went :) happy hunting!
2. i'm only leaving DC for the summer. i will be back in august.

oh man. i am such a piece because i really haven't called you in a while. i just kind of the lost the heart for it while i was in hawaii and since i've been back, it's been an endless quagmire of tv and reading books.
i am dying to hear about your conversation, though, and also to find out who this guy is you were making out with at the bar. and to find out how you are!! and everything! i am so totally planning on coming to denver sometime this summer, i just don't know when yet.
okay, at least someone is with me on this one because i got ridiculed mercilessly by my housemates for buying a rod stewart record. i'm sorry, but that song is so amazing, i couldn't help myself.
by the way, i never got your email :( i'm sad about that. and guess what? i have some underwear with the exact same headphones drawing on them as you have in your new user pic.
mm rod stewart is just as good as my lionel richie record. also when I listened to carole king I didn't realize I already knew all the songs on it. great purchases.
tapestry is just one of those albums where almost every song is a hit. i love it. i think i would probably like listening to a lionel richie album...which one did you get? what hits does it have on it? (i'm only interested in bonafide hits by the way)
oh man, the number one hit I can remember is "Hello", which is really the only lionel richie song you ever need to hear. Especially if you can imagine the video with the blind girl at the same time!
