last night i think my monster was lonely.  normally, when i'm at home, i open his cage doors and he's free to wander about at will.  and normally he's fairly antisocial: he'll wander into the bedroom and sprawl on the bed, or sit on the couch in the one sunny spot.  but even then, when i'm moving around a lot, he gets huffy and find another spot ( Read more... )

Neither naive nor silly. It just shows you have a great capacity for compassion and love, and that he's right to let you go because he cannot possibly give you what you deserve. I think it's a good, if painful, move. And I think you will find the love you need. Reminds me of that Bjork song, "All is full of love"

You'll be given love
you'll be taken care of
you'll be given love
you have to trust it
maybe not from the sources
you've poured yours
maybe not from the direction
you're staring at...

Anytime I'm really really bummed out about a relationship, that song always gives me hope, I wish you the same.

Nicki is right, it doesn't make you silly or naive at all, it shows that you are way more mature and grown.up as he is because you were willing to work on the relationship, to get things sorted out. I'm really sorry for you, for the pain and the divorce and the whole past year. I don't know if Khalil and you can stay friends, or if that's a good idea at all but maybe being in contact with each other is easier for both of you once you're no longer married. I'm truely sorry.

Big hug
