 I spoke to someone today who said something that depressed me.    He said that I was fooling myself to believe that I was actually involved in theater up here.  He basically told me that I was a receptionist with a masters degree in theater and nearly 50k worth of debt and that was how people framed me

It seems to me that whoever said that to you has a serious inferiority complex. And oh, he must be very lackluster to succeed so completely at failing to see YOU. You shine.
