Jack took Ennis’s hand in his then, and held it up to the sky, the better to see their twin bands, unbroken circles of gold, winking in the diamond starlight.

“Love you, Jack Henry Twist.”

“Love you, too, Ennis Kieran Del Mar.”

Awww....swooon....what a LOVELY ENDING! Truly a lovely ending to a wonderful story. Jack and Ennis together, as they should be, living the life they should have. Thank you!

Jen, I'm so sorry!! Your story finished while I was away on vacation and I only just NOW figured out you posted the finale and epilogue already. I was like, hey Jen's around, I wonder what's happening with Going Down, and then - BLAM-O - I can't believe I missed this!!
Although, I'm glad in a way that I caught up with this today because I needed this kind of happiness. That whole thing with Randall and Julia had my heart in my throat! So this ending was just perfect...peaceful, idyllic, utter bliss. Loved your descriptive imagery://After the sun had vanished, sliding down the polished expanse of sky like an egg yolk across a hot pan...//. Just gorgeous. Oh thank you so much for finishing this story with "unbroken circles of gold". A fitting end to a heart-warming story. Looking forward to your next project! xx Em

Hi Em, thanks for your most kind commentary. :) I so enjoyed writing the final chapter and epilogue; I've really missed my boys since then. I am swamped at the moment getting ready for the new semester--three new classes to teach on Monday--but am hoping once I get some work squared away I can get these one-shots out that are percolating in my brain.
