Another gorgeous chapter! I started to tear up in the first few lines. I know Jack won't be able to stay away from Ennis and the fact that he has the knapsack will lead him back (I hope). Hopefully the fact that Jack stood his ground so early on will lead them to be together that much sooner. I'm looking forward to Chapter 4!
A beautiful but heartbreakingly sad chapter, Jen, but your writing is just incredible. The sex scene between Ennis and Jack was just so gorgeous - very hot, but very very romantic. Loved the fact that Ennis wanted to be held by Jack, to be taken by Jack, and when he said "its nice being here with you", I thought my heart would melt

Awww no! No wonder you said to trust you. I trust you, I really do, I promise. But I'm gonna require you to hurry with an update, please and thank you. ;) Maybe Ennis will come to his senses and go to Texas to get Jack? Pretty pretty please?
I found the link to this story on the Wranglers site and I'm so glad I did. I've always wondered what would have happened if Jack had said no to the back of beyond and demanded all or nothing from Ennis. Would Ennis find it impossible to give Jack up, or would he be willing to go back to his life and never make any move to follow his heart, like he did for that first four years. Will Jack have to 'cave' and make the next move, or is losing Jack a second time (thankfully, in this AU not to death) going to be enough to spur him into action, despite his fears? I can't wait to find out how you will get them to resolve this situation...I read your disclaimer and if these first three chapters are any indication, I definitely trust you to do right by the guys. :-)
