Things had been picking up, now that Shion had returned to the Sanctuary - tests to prepare, wounds to treat, arguments to be had, and Mu was finding it harder and harder to find time alone anymore.

But right now was one of those times. The residents of the Aries temple were either training or sleeping, except for he who was nestled rather comfortably in his den with a book and a cup of tea. If he wasn't sure he'd be needed the second he did so, he would have long since dropped off to sleep. Athena knew, he was lacking that at the moment.

Have a Marta first!

And in Marta pops, not all that far away from where Mu is resting.

"I-... Emil?" She goes wide-eyed, confused, frightened. Where is this? How did she get here? She looks around wildly, trying to find answers (or, even better, Emil). When she spots Mu, she calms, but only a little. "Mu?"

Meanwhile, the kitten in her arms is not too thrilled at being swung around in response to Marta's frantic spinning. It begins to squirm a little.

The response was, perhaps, a second belated as Mu counted to ten silently, mistaking the high voice for a trainee come to call on him. He looked over, his gaze initially sharp, but it softened considerably when he realized his mistake.

"Marta? What are you doing here?"

"I don't know," she answered quietly, a little frightened still and very disoriented. "I was walking with Emil, and now I'm... where are we? What's going on?"

The house Nyx lives in is in a boggy swamp. The season is winter, cold, desolate--though the season and time of day are impossible to tell. The house rambles through it's own memories, rummaging through the past like an old lady sifting through knickknacks. No room remains in the same place, no hall says put, the stairs wander. And once through one door, it might move, and opening it again will just reveal another room in the endless, eerie corridors

[Emil's luck needs work. He staggers and falls to his knees, his kitten panicking and clawing up his shoulders, onto his back.]

Ow-ow-ow-- what... M-Marta?

[He slowly lifts his head and realizes that he can see himself. A thousand selves. He gasps and scoots back, then bumps into something and screams. But the mirrors aren't showing anything anymore.

He could have sworn... he saw Aster, not himself, in one of those mirrors. But... well, it's too late now.]

Where-- where am I? [He stows the kitten into his scarf and goes to investigate the room.] Hello? Is anyone there?

Um, I don't see a door...

Marta's sudden appearance startles the already frightened birds in the room. Their clamor and commotion cause Marta to jump and yelp, and the orange kitten in her arms mewls pitifully as it buries its face in her chest, attempting to hide.

The next thing she does is bolt for the door, but the attic it leads to seems to be a dead end. Thinking that it might not be the best idea, she turns to go back through the bird-room and try another door, but through the door lies a room that she hasn't even seen yet, even though... didn't she just...?

Instead of stepping through the doorway, she backs farther into the attic room, kitten clutched to her chest, eyes wide.

"Emil?"

At first Satoshi was alone, and then in the next instant, Emil simply appeared. He was quiet for a good two seconds, the shock of being yanked somewhere that wasn't the Plane apparently getting to him. And then he stiffened, grasped the handle of his sword, and snarled at the blue-haired boy who had passing familiarity and not much else.

"Where's Marta?!"

Well, that answer was simple. It also made Emil hesitate. "What? She was just with me! Where the hell else would she be?!"
