“Do you think.. you're ready?” Shoko nervously asked as she sat beside her fiance on her couch.
Of course she knew Ohno wouldn't suddenly change his mind or anything, but really though, after today, their lives will be irrevocably twined together. Ohno may look calm right now, but Shoko wasn't entirely sure he's not panicking deep inside.
Ohno gave her a thoughtful look, before saying, “I'm hungry.” Shoko was dumbfounded. “What?”
Ohno grinned her way and reached for her hand. “Let's go out on our last date as people who are dating.” His suggestion made Shoko's eyes crinkle with mirth and her lips curve up into a smile. The anxiety creeping up her skin earlier was immediately washed away by the seemingly casual yet comfortable way her fiance just invited her out to dinner.
“Okay.” She said, squeezing the hand holding hers.
It was so them to spend their last day as lovers with food.

By the end of the night, before they parted ways in front of Shoko's door, she asked him once again. This time, the feelings carrying her question were not that of unease. This time she was asking with genuine curiosity and a smile bright on her lips. “Do you think you're ready?”
Ohno brought his hands to her waist and pulled her to him for an embrace. He rested his cheek against hers as he whispered to her ear, “I've been ready since the day I first told you I love you.”
He could feel Shoko's lips stretch into a smile as her face warmed up against his. Her expression mirrored the one he has on his face right now.
Ohno's hands moved up to her arms and he gently pulled them apart. Staring at her beautiful eyes, he leaned in and pressed his lips against hers. It was soft, it was sweet, and it carried with it the sense of calm he felt whenever they were together.
Just as their lips parted, a sharp slap hit Ohno on the head. “Ow!”
“Hey, hey. Stop snogging my Bambi in front of our house.” Okadacchi warned but his words sounded teasing. Shoko's parents tried to stiffle their laughter behind him. Shoko immediately tried to soothe her lover's pain. “Satoshi-kun, are you okay?” She then turned to her stepbrother, “Bussan! You didn't have to hit him.” But Okadacchi was already walking away, laughing.
“You're gonna be married tomorrow anyway, no need to rub it in our faces.”
Ohno pouted rather unattractively.
Shoko's parents only stayed to greet them before following behind Okadacchi and telling him, “Let them be. They're excited to be together.”
Left alone once again at the doorstep, Shoko apologized for her brother's behavior and Ohno shook his head and smiled at her. He reached out for both of her hands with both of his. “So. I guess I'll see you tomorrow?” Ohno said, a grin plastered to his face.
With an equally wide smile, Shoko replied, “Okay. I'll be there.”
“I'll be the one waiting at the end of the aisle.”
“I'll be the one wearing a white gown.”
“Good night, Shoko-chan.”
“Good night, Satoshi-kun.”
They stayed smiling at each other while holding hands till the two of them started laughing at being so silly. “I should really go now.” Ohno started.
Shoko, still all smiles, nodded in agreement. “You really should.”
“Okay.” Ohno said, he couldn't stop smiling.
They were still staring at their joined hands and slowly, finally, Ohno began to move away.
As they parted, Shoko started waving at him. He smiled before he stepped back, beginning his journey home. He hasn't walked too far when Shoko called his name. “Satoshi-kun!”
When he turned back, he was happily surprised when Shoko's lips pressed against his and he welcomed the warm hands cradling his cheeks with his own. “I love you.” Shoko whispered. He kissed her once more and smiled against her lips. “I love you too.” Ohno instantly flinched as he was hit with a flying paperplane on the cheek.
From the second floor window, Okadacchi said, “Seriously you two. Stop it.” making the two lovers laugh and finally separate.
With a wave and a big smile, Ohno finally trudged his way home.
Tomorrow, there will be no more need for them to separate.
Tomorrow, they are getting married.
