To say it was unexpected to see Kei was an understatement. Sasame let out an estranged gasp as he watched in horror (and amusement) as a flail of golden hair and limbs tumbled rapidly, and frantically, towards the icy cold river. Instinctively Sasame reacted in an instant, making the distance separating them seem like mere inches, as he made a grab for Kei’s arm.
Sasame managed to stop Kei from submerging into the drink, but the agitated Leafe Knight of Light was face to face with the water, with a look on his face that told he was anything but happy.
Sasame smirked, and as he held Kei centimeters from the river, he said, “It’s not everyday you get to save such an enlightened creature from drowning himself.”

All Kei heard was a muffled gasp somewhere beneath a sudden gust of wind, and then a strong hand was gripping his arm and he was so close to the waves of the river he could feel water lapping against his nose. All he could do, then, was breathe a small sigh of relief to himself...
And then he realized who was speaking.
Mortified, he scrambled back onto the embankment and staggered upright in total disarray, blushing with vexation and trying to ignore the amusement in Sasame's eyes... Why did Sasame have to be the one to catch him in such a ridiculous situation ( ... )

Sasame lowered his eyes away from Kei’s scrutinizing gaze and carefully thought out his reply.
“Leafunia is perfect.” He replied quietly, and decided he shouldn’t say anymore. Especially not to Kei. Trying desperately to avoid the topic of himself, he said offhandedly, “Camping, you? Isn’t that a little out of character?”

Moreover, it was precisely this sort of subterfuge that had hidden that secret pain from all of them over all those years; that had led to the fiasco of betrayal that had played out under darkened skies.
So maybe he was a little angry when he replied, "I'm glad you're doing well. And I'm only on this ridiculous trip, because we couldn't find anyone else to take care of the kids until Goh came." He took a step closer, into Sasame's field of vision, forcing him to meet his eyes. "So tell me, when were you planning on stopping your ridiculous sulking and rejoining us, Leafe Knight of Sound?"
[OOC: Heh... I just couldn't see Kei being gentle about this. ^^;; That's Himeno's department.]
