Okay, god, I have been wanting to read Joe/Miley fic for what feels like forever, so this comment isn't going to be remotely coherent. I apologize for that, but it can't be helped.

As Joe had stared up at her, he came to the conclusion that he’d fallen a little bit in love with her.

He was more okay with this than he’d like to admit.

I loved everything about the beginning, with Joe not quite getting it and thinking that Nick/Miley would just be a phase, but slowly getting just what it is that makes Nick (and the world) love her. It just feels really real.

When he thinks about it, she’s the closest to a sister he’s ever had, except a thousand times better. Sometimes he likes to think he wouldn’t give her up for anything, but then he sees them together, Miley and Nick, and reality springs back full force.

He knows it won’t be forever.Because Joe's older and knows more and even if Miley and Nick still think it's going to last forever at this point (and Miley did, obviously), Joe knows better. And him

I tried to make everything as real as I could in developing their friendship, but still trying to stay true to their characters, so I'm so glad that came across.
