It was good news and bad news when I arrived home from work last night. The good news is the electrician had been and managed to fix some of the lights and some sockets. The bad news is that we still have no lights in the living room or working sockets in the kitchen. The wiring is so old it has gone brittle and snapped when the power kept on and

I sure hope that fixed means replaced wires. The storm did you a favor if the wires are brittle an snapped. You could have had a fire. I am happy to hear that it is somewhat better. Soon all will be fixed and safe. Hang in there.

I suppose we knew that the house needed rewiring but it is just one more expense that we just cant afford at the moment so we were delaying it. We will probably put something else aside now and get on we rewiring!
