After having my second Epirubicin injection I had problems breathing again. It is thought to have been a rare allergic reaction. As I was due to have two more of these injections it has been recommended that I shouldn't take the risk, therefore cutting my treatment short by a month which is brilliant. I've had a bit of a shit weekend. It's two days now since I had my first chemo injection.  I was dreading the side effects but they haven't been as bad as I thought.  I felt pretty nauseous on the first evening after my injection but the next day I felt quite a bit better.  Only 11 more treatments to go ( Read more... )

It is my last  day of work today before I go off for six months chemo treatment.  I can't believe it really.  I've not had a long length of time off work since I started working 22 years ago!  I have a list as long as my arm of things that I plan to do so I am assuming that I will feel okay for some of the time at least!  I have to look at it that ( Read more... )

My  usual short cut to work was blocked again today not only by the ever increasing floods that we now seem to have every winter but also by the fact that someone had risked driving through it and got their car stuck, leaving it abandoned in the middle of the road, surrounded by flood water.  As it is only a narrow country lane the car wil probably ( Read more... )

Congratulations to Viggo on his BAFTA nomination for Best Actor!!  After missing out on the Golden Globe I wish him success.  Eastern Promises is also up for Best British Film.

I  went to get my wig fitted yesterday and it wasn't as bad as thought is was going to be.  I tried a few on and eventually found one I liked.  I couldn't believe the range they have.  I've gone for a short bob that is unbelievably similar to my own hair colour!  They were really helpful in the salon and I sat there while they cut the wig as I ( Read more... )

Can things get any worse I ask myself?  After work last night I went out to my car and discovered I'b been given a parking ticket and a 60 quid fine!  All the parking money that I thought I might be saving when I go off sick has now been taken in a parking fine - brilliant.  Bloody Bridgnorth District frigging Council.
