My  usual short cut to work was blocked again today not only by the ever increasing floods that we now seem to have every winter but also by the fact that someone had risked driving through it and got their car stuck, leaving it abandoned in the middle of the road, surrounded by flood water.  As it is only a narrow country lane the car wil probably

I know the news around here are always telling people not to try to cross a flooded road, but there are people who do it anyway. Sometimes they end up drowning. Fools.

There are a lot of fords around here which people tend to risk driving through when the rivers are high. It just isn't worth it. It is so easy to get swept away. My shortcut is still blocked! We've had a lot of rain!
