A KHR fic (especially since there's practically no R80 fics out there.)

Rating: Hmm. R for hints of sex.
Pairing: Adult Reborn/Yamamoto(R80)
Warnings: Implied sex
Summary: Yamamoto is unsettled by the thought of killing. Reborn teaches him Italian- and a few other things.

Squalo's so amusing. (Although there was that gory bit where he knocked out Yama's teeth and dragged him off for training O.o) But apart from that, I love his (rare) appearances. They're great.

And I also love innuendos. Cause they sound so innocent and stuff but you know *winkwink*

Ah, we must alert the younger on the dangers of smoking! (Although I have to admit, Adult Reborn smoking would probably look hot. Like Gokudera. Darn.) Glad to know I characterised them right- I wanted Reborn's blunt yet charming manner along with Yama's almost evasive and cheerful character.

I just, I don't know. When Reborn was training Yamamoto in the Future Arc I was like aww, that's nice of Reborn. (Probably cause Yamamoto's one of the few people he actually treats with respect.) But he was still a baby, of course, so I didn't think anything...

And then I saw his adult form 8D and it was (fangirl squealing) and I also loved the bit where he only told Yamamoto his secret. Out of everyone, why Yamamoto only?

I think adult Reborn is one of the sexiest characters in KHR...and I think he has great chemistry with Yamamoto in general, from the very first moment they met.
I think Reborn is one of the few people who see what Yamamoto is really made of, and I think this came through in your fic...

He totally is. I wish they'd show more of him... I've only read the manga, and they show him in his adult form about twice. That's just so sad :(

I know Yamamoto seems to be very simple, but I actually think that he's quite a complex character. If compared to Gokudera, who's really blunt and just says whatever's on his mind, Yamamoto is more inclined just smile and pretend he doesn't understand what's going on. After all, in manga, it seems that the happy-go-lucky ones are usually the ones who are very complicated inside xD

The dialogue in this is great, what with how they both talk around the topic while knowing exactly what they're talking about - but this is my favourite part:
The hitman caught the undercurrent of tension in Yamamoto’s words, despite the casual tone of his voice. “Having second thoughts?”
“No,” the boy replied promptly. “If it means Tsuna and the others are getting away safely, I don’t mind camping out here. This castle is so cool.”
“If you’re worried, there’s no need to hide it. It’s just you and me.”

Yamamoto's dependable and brave, and Reborn's cutting and insightful. Perfect! The whole mood of the fic is good, showing how fun these two are together. I like Reborn wondering why he's sleeping alone, anyway.

I love the interaction between these two. I mean, I know basically the whole plot of KHR revolves around friendship and trust and that kind of thing, but I think it's practically only Reborn and Yamamoto who actually have something close to a normal (platonic) relationship that has all the right elements of trust and respect, while at the same time still being friendly and knowing how to have fun together. (Especially since Reborn's cutting comments mostly fly over Yama's head anyway. Lol.)

I do really like how you've beaten down your writers block. Yamamoto is just great. He's deceiving no one with his little act cos Reborn's too sharp to fall for any of that from him. Good that they are alone and Yamamoto can have all the thinking space he wants and the offer of distraction when he needs it. Bet it pissed Squalo off to no end that his arrival was slept through *grin*

Am only new to the fandom and will so be reading this again after I finish the anime (am only half way through) and what's out there of the manga (brought what's in print as a present for myself and will read that before going online for the rest). Have you seen any other fics of this pairing you can point me to?

I've never quite believed that Yamamoto is as dumb as everyone believes him to be, or that Reborn thinks he's that dumb either. After all, apparently he has 'extraordinary' powers of 'perception'. So I think in the end it's all a matter of Yamamoto pretending and Reborn pretending that they both don't know Yama's got brains. After all, Yama's a 'natural born assassin' while Reborn's 'the world's greatest hitman'.

(Of course this is totally biased, since I'm totally in love with Yamamoto. But still.)

I'm quite new to the paiing too, but I only fell in love with this pairing after some developments in the Future Arc that showed Yama/Reborn interaction. In reply to your question, I actually made a post on the khr yaoi page asking for recs, and I came up with very little.
