What I wouldn't do for some air con..

Today I have been anonymously browsing through Friends Reunited trying to find out what my old school companions are doing these days. As some of you may know, I have a very bad habit of burning bridges almost as soon as I establish them, so old ties in my life are almost non-existant. This means I have not a fucking clue what any of those people ( Read more... )

Hellooooo...Sounds like you're hardly choking back the tears about leaving books behind. Sad, really. Are you starting at the V&A?

Right back at you!!

Gutted is not a word I would use in reference to my departure from the book palace. As ever, the books are my friends, but the business side of things is pure unadulterated shite!

Miserably, I am not going to the V&A. I was knocked out of the race by an internal candidate. Internal candidates the world over should be shot in the kneecaps for all the grief they cause..

I'll be doing nutrition related work, which I suppose is relevant since that's what I'm studying - but I don't really want to work it AND study it. But such is my lot..

Yeh, the book trade is as soulless as any other business, alas. Sorry to hear about the V&A but good luck with the new gig. Surely you can't be shop_bitch anymore? Though I'm not at all sure about the sound of nutrition-bitch.

Murakami and Firefly? Anyone with these interests probably belongs on my friends list. Though you post so rarely... which is a shame, because apparently your prose is excellent even when you claim to be drunk. Yes, it's been a slow day at work and I've been reading back-entries.

Plus, I'm very curious about the tattoos. With your taste for art nouveau and elegance and all that travel... well, they ought to be nice. Bugger it, I'm adding you even though I'm faintly ashamed of all the uninteresting wittering I do inside my friends lock.

Well, hello there. Welcome to my small and often pathetic little world. I hope it doesn't disappoint, although having said that - it does leave me disillusioned much of the time..

I have been trying to post more frequently of late - I just can't seem to find the inspiration. Consider yourself added back - it's high time I widened my circle and stopped being so insular! At this point I need to apologise for all the cursing and rage and all the other nonsense you may read!

As for those tattoos - I think I posted a picture a while back with just a hint of tattoo showing. I can't bring myself to post more pictures as the camera and I have a fairly shared hate, hate relationship.

As for all that uninteresting wittering you say you do - I'm sure it's a lot more compelling than you are alluding to..

Ah yes, a quick check and, as if by magic, there are posts with little padlocks and one with a pic! Interesting, actually, reminds me of something I did a while back... anyway, excellent stuff. Hi there. I have many questions, like why you would like "South London" particularly (I noticed the interest); I'm a south Londonder by birth and always dreamed of the excitement of The North. But there's no rush.

Good to hear from you again albeit slightly delayed due to internet radio silence.

I know what you mean about Friends Reunited - I ocasionally feel the need to look at what those long forgotten friedns are up to now. I've even signed up under a false name before now to do it. It strange - there are very good reasons why I'm no longer in touch with most of them but I still feel a bizarre amount of nostalgia for that time despite the fact that it horrible.
