St Peter's Basilica? One of my favorite spots in the whole world.

Lovely photos. Nice colours.

Speaking of which, I think it's Istanbul that I really envy you.

You mean you don't feel envy when you see those alluring pictures of Auschwitz??

I was thinking that was probably what they were, with the infamous slogan. I seem to be avoiding horrific things at the moment, with Israel being so vile and certain elected representatives being way too pally with Bush and learning so little from the mess they've made elsewhere, after all Blair's on record as saying he doesn't think there's much to learn from the past, and Bush, well.

It's strange, actually, I get most of my news these days from the guardian on the web or the economist (in the bathroom...) and I seem to get less immune to some of these images. Or maybe I'm just getting older and angrier.

So now you're getting to know me :-)

Egad!  Seagulls on the moon?  Don't let the conspiracy theorists see this ;-)

The regolith looks like sand...

In fact - the gulls were there long before any human ever came up with the astounding idea of 'landing' on the moon. I believe they are in fact keepers of the secrets of the ancient Egyptians who, of course, arrived to us from the lunar surface. The gulls are predecessors of the god Horus or some such..

Really lovely photos - especially the one of the flowers.

These are some nice pix, s_b, but what I like most is the breadth of subject matter. Strange bedfellows!
And I agree with 832 about the moongulls.

That's what the inside of my head is like - all scatty and disconnected.

Pictures 2,3 and 5 are from my front garden and local beach back in Aus, so that discredits the moon landing of the seagulls!

Picturesque spot, the old home town. But hang on, is no. 4 a picture of that South London locale I used to love?

It sure is! The view from my bedroom window just after a fantastic storm. WIth a faint rainbow peeking through the clouds.
