I feel like I haven't been able to stop and take a breath for the past two weeks. Been working overtime to make some extra money so I can afford everything that's going on right now. The general populace seems to be disappointed that Rita did not tear through south Texas as it did Louisiana. Think texans were looking forward to the destructive chaos. I'm supposed to drive to Kansas this next monday night to go pickup my friend and her stuff so she won't be living on the street, but I don't know if I'll be able to if the evacuee traffic clogging up the routes out of north texas and the gas shortage continue on into next week. Evacuees from houston are moving roughly 12-14mph on the freeway. Gas stations are running outta' fuel. If you haven't started heading out of town yet, but you are planning to do so at some point, then it might be a good idea to head up to the sporting goods store and invest in a bicycle.

Looks like I'll be taking in a derelict soon. Friend is getting kicked out of her aunt's house where she was finding Haven while she got her life back on track after losing her man and having to give her baby up for open adoption. Got paid yesterday so I can afford gas again for a bit. Gone down 20¢ in the past week so we're down to a $2.79/gal. average in Fort Worth now. Stopped by Haltom City and Azle just to make a brief appearance to let a couple people know I'm still alive. I get kind of a guilty satisfaction at people's reactions when I stop by like that.
