SOPA and PIPA

Wiki's strategy to raise awareness worked on me. I just read the Wiki pages on SOPA & PIPA (the only English pages not blacked out today). Google is also hosting an action petition against the two bills.

Opponents say the bills' measures would impose censorship, & innumerable hours of pointless work on legitimate companies to take action against ( Read more... )

What does Ron Paul and John Stewart say about this .
The only two people I watch and listen to when I am not smoking anything!

However I agree with Tea party senators amendments to the SOFA bill
in wanting to ban 'deponti' bird posts from Internet

You think too much.
Republicans won't like it.

I cannot even believe that such restrictive measures are being thought of as viable options to penalize errant companies. How would they ever work? How can anyone even think that they'd be effective?

Hoping that these bills will never see the light of day.

Hi Shortindiangirl- I was reading your comments from 2004, on locations for your wedding, and I am glad to see that you are still active on this journal. I too have very similar criteria, as you have mentioned in your past posts, for my wedding in Bangalore this December. I was wondering where you ultimately held your wedding? I am torn between the charm of Ganjam, and the space in Tamarind Tree. It will be great to have someone's opinion, who has been through the same dilemma. Thanks!

I loved Ganjam, but we ultimately went with a place across the street, called Dharmasthala Manjunatha mantapa. It was old, but I liked its old world charm because it reminded me of the kind of places that I remember going to weddings at as a child. So I didn't mind the oldness, and I loved the vast spaciousness it had. It was "authentic" and not trying to be ethnic. Even though Ganjam achieves its ethnicity successfully, it is still somewhat contrived through a modern eye. The added bonus of Manjunatha was that it was significantly cheaper. I also really liked having the dressing rooms immediately off the dias, so that the outfit changes were also not as contrived and the flow wasn't interrupted with rising or descending down stairs ( ... )
