mmk just called and told me he passed away last night and I'm trying to make sense of it. A giant of a man. His sphere of influence is so vast, I admit I'm having to also make sense of my own voice amongst the myriad of others who have a place in their hearts for him. All of four days that I didn't check FB/ google+ etc. and the world changes dramatically...didn't know the person but remember him from LJ many years ago...what a touching tribute...certainly Ashok and he must meet up there like you have described. If all goes well, I will be in Madras for his fifth anniversary...hopefully I will smell cigarette smoke....

It's not surprising to me that he did what he did. He was that kind of guy. He randomly (or so it seemed then) pulled me and kalyan out of the mass of folks and asked us to stop by his office. The rest, is so far back, I can legitimately claim is history. I still remember that first meeting in Malleshwaram.

I smile at the idea of the two A's having a drink and laughing at all of us. I can quite see them doing that in their own imp-ish ways.
