Integrated classrooms, perpetuated race and income disparity

This is particularly interesting to me as someone working with education projects in India through Asha for Education. Race related disparities persist and even take root early. Asha donors often want to fund "poor" children's schools, but the truth is that integrated classrooms are better for ALL children (thanx for teaching me this Madhulika ),

Not a new viewpoint for me...we used to discuss whether blind students would do better at integrated schools (with "normally-sighted" children). I think the "normally-sighted" children would also benefit very much. But...children can be very cruel, too...
