Integrated classrooms, perpetuated race and income disparity

This is particularly interesting to me as someone working with education projects in India through Asha for Education. Race related disparities persist and even take root early. Not a new viewpoint for me...we used to discuss whether blind students would do better at integrated schools (with "normally-sighted" children). I think the "normally-sighted" children would also benefit very much. But...children can be very cruel, too...
