Sadly a little, as someone who has just finished his second year of a History degree those killer jobs, well they're a myth. The amount of people looking for work in the heritage.museum world is very large and the amount of jobs very small, add to this the fact that most of the people in those jobs stay in them well past retirement and you have recipe for no jobs. Hate to the be the bearer of bad tidings but the vast majority of history people end up doing jobs that have nothing to do with their subject, or teaching
biggest secret of degrees, only the people that have them know how little they are actually worth. Do if for fun, do it for love of the subject, but money at the end is far from guaranteed. Oh and you do know if you want to get good grades it usually means working quite hard? Sure you can probably bum around and get something okay if that is your bag.

As long as you're into the subject though go for it.
