Put the downpayment on my dress and ordered it from the manufacturer! AND they can take 3" off the hem at the manufacturer for me, so I'll have fewer alterations to be made once I actually do get the dress in my hands. Courtney bought hers too, and it is definitely gorgeous. :D Went to the bridal district in Reading with mom and Courtney this ( Read more... )

Hey Heather, I just got engaged as well. We are getting married this october, so i'm in wedding planning hyper-drive! We are also having an outdoor ceremony and reception. Sounds like you have some great ideas! Us smith kids will have to get used to spelling out our last names everywhere we go....we had it easy for a long time I guess. Congrats again!

P.S- did you look for any bridesmaid dresses in the bridal district? I seriously didn't see any that I liked.

Try Bridal and Formal on Benson Street, if you go to the left once you go in the front door and past the shoes and veils and things you'll see all the bridesmaids dresses. They have them arranged by designer and had a big selection. :)

if you need alterations and don't have anyone in mind yet, i suggest peggy markley (aka jaisyn's mom). she's awesome. and she actually works down there on benson st. (well, close anyway), i forget the name of the place, but she's good. jaisyn's skillz didn't come out of nowhere :)

Sheer Necessities. It's on Benson, on the right side of the street, about a block up from Jefferson.
Yay Heather for getting her ducks in a row!

all it takes for you to swoon is plumbing skills? treehugger June 12 2007, 03:29:59 UTC
copper pipe replacement is one of the very few skills i have...if only i'd known it was useful. also, cranes are one of my other few skills, but it hasn't been exercised since 6th grade. so quit doing all the things i could actually be helpful with!

yay i don't have to help you try on wedding dresses. there are too many freaking layers, with our powers of uncoordination combined someone would've died. i'd feel really bad if you suffocated in a freak dress accident and it was my fault.

we should talk soooooon. i'll be back like july 7th or something. lay out plans, talk details, what girly and/or pornish things you require of your wedding/planning experience.
