anyway, i was talking to a girl i work with whose sister lives in germany. anyway, she keeps in touch with everyone by (and i dont know ALL the details, but..) she has a connection to her computer in wisconsin (where she's from) so that when she calls, her call goes to the computer, and then the computer calls/connects to the number she's calling.
i know that's a little vague, but it sight be something to look into... she doesn't pay international claling fees and shit that way.
