College is easy, but don't build yourself habits that you can't break once you're out. People notice when you half-ass real life.

not that i dont appriciate that, in the military, nothing is about doing anything to the fullest. you could do one project better than anyone could have, even someone 10 times higher than you, and still get passed up for promotion. it seems to be the assholes who say they will do something, then pass it off on someone else, that get the promotions. I know this isnt how real life works, but for the next 3 and a half years, i dont really have to worry about the real world. I just need to get as much college done like this as i can, so when i get to real college, i dont end up in the same situation, working 12 hours a day, 6 days a week and trying to do college and karate all the while maintaining my social life and my physical fitness. I really dont like having to struggle this much to find that extra hour. So while i may be halfassing alot more than usual, i am getting things done ( ... )

It seems to me that if you are jockeying things like physical fitness, social life, and karate above your scholarly duties you don't need to learn time management. You need to learn how to appropriately prioritize the things that are really important. If the notion of half-assing schoolwork or not doing it at all is even jokingly permitted then you really should examine the idea of what really is a priority for you. Most people I know that seriously assert those things have ended up dropping out of college, failing out of college, or just deciding that they don't need it and work in a meat processing facility for the rest of their lives. I don't want any of that for you ( ... )
