When I checked the weather forecast last night, it said that there was only a 10% chance of precipitation. Then today, I looked out the window around 1:45pm and saw that not only was it snowing but that it had apparently already been snowing for a while. I was in NYC on the 10th, but didn't go into the subway this time. I just discovered tonight that not taking the subway at all yesterday means that I missed the chance to possibly witness the ninth annual No Pants! Subway Ride. I got my Yuletide story posted a few minutes ago, at least a version of it. Since the new archive allows for editing, I might go back and add more if I can get it written before the reveal. As it currently stands though, the story doesn't completely suck, and I got it in far enough ahead of the deadline that no panic attacks were necessary. Yay.

It's four days and not quite four hours until the Yuletide deadline, unless the deadline gets pushed back to compensate for the significantly reduced upload window. It's probably one of those cases where if I assume the deadline will be pushed back, then it won't, so my plans should be made with the assumption that the deadline is staying put ( Read more... )

Leaving for the airport yet again in just a few minutes. Heading to AZ for my grandfather's memorial service. Will be back Monday. When this is over, I'm really looking forward to just staying close to home for a while.

I'm back in PA now. This was my day yesterday: Left my hotel at 8:45am. Left San Francisco around 11:00am. Landed in Charlotte, NC some time around 7:00pm. Left Charlotte at 8:25pm. On my way to CA.

Posting this from my DSi just because I had never tried before. It's a little awkward, but it seems to work. Anyway, am still in AZ but should be back home late-ish tomorrow night unless something unforeseen happens. More later if I feel like it.
